Bellevue, WA — July 13, 2026 — Lixor, the voice-first bar inventory platform, today announced Hands-Free Counting — a feature that lets a bartender inventory an entire bar without ever taking their phone out of their pocket.
It starts with a sentence. The bartender says "Hey Siri, start my Lixor inventory," slides the phone into a back pocket, and walks the bar. Lixor speaks each bottle aloud in a natural human voice. The bartender says the level out loud — "point six," "one point five" — and Lixor repeats what it heard and moves to the next bottle. No screen. No scanner. No clipboard. Both hands stay on the bottles.
"Every other way of counting a bar takes a hand away from the shelf," said Tony Corneto, founder of Lixor. "A clipboard takes one. A scanner takes one. A phone takes one — and your eyes with it. This takes nothing. You put your AirPods in, you put the phone away, and you just work. The count happens while you do."
Built for the Way Bartenders Actually Count
Bar inventory has never really been about the sealed bottles — the money is in the open ones. Hands-Free Counting is built around the partial pour. A bottle that is two thirds gone is "point three." A gin you keep two of, one full and one half down, is "one point five." Lixor takes the number the way a bartender says it out loud, with no slider to drag and no decimal to type.
Because nobody is looking at a screen, the whole interface is spoken. Bartenders can say "skip," "previous," "repeat," "pause," or "finish." They can jump straight to any bottle by name — "jump to Hendrick's" — and Lixor goes there. If the phone rings mid-count, they can take the call; when they hang up, Lixor says "welcome back," re-announces the bottle they were on, and the count picks up exactly where it left off.
In Lixor's own testing, a 254-bottle count ran end to end in 23 minutes with the phone locked in a pocket the entire time — roughly five seconds a bottle.
A Voice Worth Listening To
Hands-Free Counting speaks in a natural human voice, not a robotic one — a deliberate decision, given that a bartender may be listening to it name several hundred bottles in a row. The voice runs through the bartender's AirPods, so a count can happen in a quiet room without anyone else hearing a thing. Headphones are not required; the feature works on the phone's speaker too.
The Whole Team, Hands-Free, at Once
Hands-Free Counting works inside team counts. Each bartender takes a section and counts hands-free at the same time, each hearing only their own bottles. Anything a teammate has already counted is skipped automatically, and the whole count assembles itself in real time. Managers watch it fill in from the web dashboard.
Availability
Hands-Free Counting is available now on iOS and Android, and it is included on every Lixor plan — including the 14-day free trial. There is no add-on and no extra fee. On iPhone, the count keeps running with the screen locked and the phone out of sight, and starting a count with Siri requires iOS 18 or later.
